The School Year is Over

Graduation was two weeks ago. Many would think that marks the end of the school year but in fact the end of the school year for me is our faculty retreat. This is a culminating event where we share our accomplishments for the year and start to paint the picture of where we will be going next year. We had our faculty retreat followed by our  Advisory Board meeting last week on Thursday and Friday. It was a great celebration from the sharing of our collective memories of the year to taking everyone for ice cream after lunch. At the end of the day I played a short video about a remarkable woman named Temple Grandin. If you are curious you can see the video on her website (http://www.templegrandin.com/).  HBO also made a movie about her which won 7 Emmys. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. If you are a Netflix subscriber they have it available. If your local library loans DVDs check with them and see if they have it. I know our local libraries do. This movie has inspired and educated me and perhaps it will do the same for you. None of this has anything to do with needlework but a lot to do with how we weave the fabric of our lives. Summer has begun. I hope you all enjoy it.
