The demise of WIP MAYnia

On Friday I only did a little stitching on LHN Holiday Hometown Schoolhouse.

While moving through my busy day I decided WIP MAYnia is not for me. Starting Saturday I went back  to working on my Year of WIP (YOW) focus piece, Forest by Satsuma Street. I will work on this until I finish it and then move onto the next YOW project. Here is where I finished up at the end of the weekend.
Forest by Satsuma Street
Last year, while working as a marshal at a golf tournament, I picked up a key ring from one of the sponsor's (Toyota) booth. I thought it would make a great scissor fob and it has as you can see below.
I thought the guitar was cute but never realized until my husband commented that it was also a bottle opener. Not being a beer drinker it never occurred to me. However, since then I have acquired other key chains to use as scissor fobs which i will share on another day.

2018 WIPMaynia May 2nd

The May 2nd WIP is a counted canvas design I started at the end of March called Summer Skies by Nancy's Needle. It is stitched on 18 count mono canvas with a mix of metallic threads and DMC #5 Perle Cottons.
Here is my starting point. When I post my Day 3 WIP I will post my progress on Day 2

2018 WIPMAYnia

There is a FaceBook group that hosts an event called Stitch MAYnia where stitchers start a new project everyday the first 18 days of May or for some every day of the month. I am no longer a member of this group but some of us in the Friday Off the Grid FB group are doing WIP MAYnia instead. This is stitching on a different WIP everyday for the first 18 days of May. Since my goal this year is to finish a dozen WIPs this is a great way to make progress towards that goal. My May 1st WIP was Forest by Satsuma Street.
