A New Finish - Ireland Christmas Ornament

In June, while on a trip with my husband,  I went shopping at the Wool and Willow needlework store in Ohio. I purchased this painted canvas by Silver Needle for my grandson. He visited Ireland in this summer and I made this to commemorate his trip.

Memories of Hawaii

Tonight I want to share two of the needlepoint
canvases I bought in Honolulu as a remembrance of
the beautiful flowers on Oahu. I will stitch
them with Splendor silk floss. I have included my
color selections. The two shades of blue will serve
as the background to represent the beautiful blue skies of Hawaii. It was a joy to see the beauty of Hawaii in the company of my husband. When these canvases are finished they will serve as a wonderful reminder of our time there together.

My June Finishes

This month I have finished two WIPs. The first is a cross stitch design by  Teresa Wentzler titled Needle Guardian which I started in October of 2009. While I have completed the stitching I still have to make the needle book. It is a gift for my DIL. This was  fun to stitch and I love the how the designer gives such great expression to the dragon.

My next finish was a needlepoint design from Nancy's Needle called Spring Flower Garden. This was a new start in April of 2011 and was a very relaxing and enjoyable project. This month has been a fun stitching month. I am now working on a Gay Ann Rodgers needlepoint piece which I started last August called Echoes of Elizabeth Needle Case.

Week End Progress

Over the weekend I got to work on Lavender Blue Celtic Quilt. I finished the helix, the light blue border around it and the purple border around that.  This is a fun piece. The purple is DMC #327 perle cotton #5. The rest are Caron Water Colors in Abelone, Delphinium, and Night Sky.  This is stitching up quickly. I just haven't had much time to work on it. If you want to see the before picture it is in this post.
